Our Top 5 Favorite Viral Videos For September

October 1st, 2010

It seems like with each passing month it brings with it more and more interesting viral videos. We have posted our five favorite viral videos below for September. Feel free to add yours below in the comments with a video link, or hit us up on Twitter, or Facebook.

1. The 200 yard golf gong shot

These golfers are masters of ball control. Watch below as they try to hit a 9″ gong 200 yards away by skipping their balls across a lake. Incredible, even Tiger Woods himself would be impressed!

2. OK Go – White Knuckles

OK Go are perhaps the most creative band on the planet today. They have had many viral video hits over the past few months including their newest one, “White Knuckles”. A great use of dogs too, check it out below.

3. Herding Cats

Our viral video list wouldn’t be complete without a cute animal one. Ikea brought in 100 cats and released them throughout one of their stores in the UK. Watch as the cats hang out with each other, get silly and wild, and of course take cat naps.

4. Future of Screen Technology

If you think you already have too many video screens in your house, office, and in your hand you haven’t seen anything yet. Check out what could be the future of screens within our lives. This is both remarkable and scary at the same time.

5. 2 Guys 600 Pillows

This video is all backwards which is a pretty interesting concept, and fun to watch. If you are sleepy right now you may want to avoid watching this video as you may search out your own comfy pillow and need a nap. Office workers you’ve been warned!

Ready, Set, Launch

September 15th, 2009

shuttlelaunch

Many of the large brands we know in today’s corporate world were built on big launches through TV, radio, and print ads. Billions of dollars were spent on telling the world that their products were a must have in everyone’s lives. Well those days appear to be long gone because I can’t remember the last time I saw a 30 second TV commercial for the 250 million+ community that is Facebook. In fact you are likely on your profile page right now (on another browser tab) so if you wouldn’t mind could you please tell your friends that you can’t wait to produce entertaining videos with individuals from across the world very soon on Spidvid, thanks!

We aim to have a very soft launch with no live events or expensive ad campaigns, but through social media, the press, and reaching influeners within the video production community. For our public beta launch (later this year/early next year) it would be great to share some drinks with those who share our passion about what the future of the video production landscape will look like in the next 3-5 years.

We originally planned on spreading the word last week but want to wait until our What Is Spidvid? video has been fully produced and is squarely set on our homepage. We believe in the quote “you only get one chance to make a good first impression” and feel that capturing people’s attention with a quality video is the top way to do that. If it wasn’t then I think we would have never developed Spidvid in the first place.

We expect to start sharing Spidvid’s existance next week as we polish everything on the outside as well as on the inside. Our goal is to ensure a positive first experience for the community we can’t wait to start building, learning from, and growing with.
